Description of Great Smoky Mountains Camp 11-16 June 2018

Fine tune your training for all fall long course triathlons in the US. Athletes will be able to learn and incorporate Trisutto training methods into their Fall Ironman and 70.3 race training.
This is a great way to kick off training for IM Louisville, IM Chattanooga, IM Florida, IM Maryland, 70.3 Augusta, 70.3 North Carolina, and numerous other Fall events. Reserve your place for our upcoming Great Smoky Mountains Camp in North Carolina, USA. with Trisutto Coach Robert Taylor.

Agenda for Great Smoky Mountains Camp 11-16 June 2018

Focusing on the fundamental principles of the Trisutto method that can make an immediate improvement in performance.
Emphasizing the importance of incorporating the proper training methods with fundamental principles in order to maximize effectiveness

  • Training philosophy –  learn principles of periodization, the training mix, psychology + physiology, athlete development and the use of races within these considerations.
  • Swim training – techniques for the individual athlete, use of swim tools, stroke correction.
  • Bike training – positioning, technique for the individual athlete, bicycle and component selection, skills, tools.
  • Run training – technique for the individual athlete, shoe choice, use of run tools (hills, track, treadmill, road).
  • Triathlon – integration of swim, bike and run into the one training approach.
  • Stretching – massage, warm up and warm downs.
  • Injuries – prevention, treatment, athlete mentality and training around or through them.
  • Race execution – strategy for the individual athlete and season goals.

Location and Accommodation

Getting to the camp:
Flying - Asheville (NC) Regional Airport is a 20 minute drive from Waynesville, NC where camp activities will take place.
Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is a 90 minute drive from Waynesville, NC.

Driving/Train - Waynesville, NC is less than 10 miles from Exit 27 on I-40.
Transfers - Rental cars are available from both airports.

Accommodation - The Blue Ridge Mountains are a popular tourist destination and there are numerous lodging options in the greater Asheville, NC area to choose from. Camp activities will be based out of Waynesville, NC, a 20 minute drive from downtown Asheville.
